The Rigid Sphere Ø 50 mm without protection, is used for the verification of the protection degree of mechanical provided by enclosures (housing or cabinet) of equipment in compliance with the first digit No. 1 (IP1X) according to the IEC 60529.

The device is a metal sphere Ø 50 mm with surface finish. Their use is described in Table 6 of IEC 60529. It is the same area of Figure 5 - Test Probe 1 - of IEC 61032.

The Rigid Sphere Ø 12.50 mm without protection, is used for the verification of the protection degree of mechanical provided by enclosures (housing or cabinet) of equipment in compliance with the first digit No. 2 (IP2X) according to the IEC 60529.

The device is a metal sphere Ø 12.50 mm with surface finish. Their use is described in section 13.2 of IEC 60529. It is the same area of Figure 6 - Test Probe 2 - of IEC 61032.
